ADATA officially announced last week the new XPG SX8200 series, which it showcased at CES earlier this year.

The new drives will reach read speeds of up to 3050MB/s and are the fastest ADATA has created to date.
The series will be equipped with Silicon Motion's new SM2262 controller (eight NAND channels, four ARM Cortex-R5 cores, NVMe 1.3, LDPC ECC, RAID mechanism, etc.) from Micron. The drives are M.2-2280 type and have a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface, like most high-end ones. The first versions will have capacities of 240 GB, 480 GB and 960 GB, but later ADATA is expected to add a 1.92 TB model to address users with larger storage needs.
In terms of performance, they will have read speeds of up to 3.05 GB/s and write speeds of up to 1.7 GB/s when using SLC caching. The random IOPS are a bit lower than what Silicon Motion had stated for the SSDs that will have the SM2262 (READ 310k and WRITE 280k).
All ADATA XPG SX8200 drives have an MTBF of 2,000,000 hours and come with a five-year warranty.
From a financial perspective, the 240 GB is priced at $140, the 480 GB at $260, while the 960 GB version will cost $480. Such prices are of course a bit higher compared to the current XPG SX8000, but the new series is significantly faster and the price will surely drop after some time on the market.
