The FBI previously worked with Cellebrite to unlock the San Bernardino shooter's iPhone, and now the company claims it can unlock the latest Apple like the iPhone X.
According to a recent Forbes report, Cellebrite tells its customers that its engineers are able to bypass security on Apple's latest iPhones, including the iPhone X and any device running Apple's iOS 11.
According to the report, Cellebrite was able to bypass the security on Apple's iPhone X in November of last year. The company has not announced that it is able to crack these iOS 11 devices.
The company works with law enforcement to unlock devices. Law enforcement has to send the device to Cellebrite to unlock it, and then it's sent back unlocked. The company is apparently keeping its latest method of unlocking devices a secret. If Apple finds out what exploit is being used, it will be able to fix it. That's why the company is operating in secrecy.
