According to a report coming from Android Police, the Google Maps 9.71 Beta app incorporates some very interesting changes, such as the ability to display battery statistics when sharing location and multiple improvements to mass transit that are not visible to the user at the time of writing.
These changes have been discovered through a deletion of the binary APK file of the Google Maps 7.91 Beta application, revealing that Google is planning to add a very useful feature regarding the device's battery level when the user shares their location.
On the other hand, the major update to Google Maps will bring several improvements to mass transit, including the ability to create shortcuts to your favorite train, tram, or bus stations, arrival times, the ability to share your trips with friends or family members, as well as alternative suggestions for departure times.
Some users are also reporting a new screenshot button in a recent beta version of Google Maps.
