Apple must be starting to worry as many iPhone users are threatening to switch to Samsung after the battery degradation fiasco.
Recall that Apple recently confirmed that it is slowing down its older models in order to address the battery issue. This announcement is very disappointing for its fans who are one step away from switching to smartphones from its eternal rival.
In recent days, there have been many reports from users claiming that Samsung's ecosystem is much more attractive than Apple's, while statistics show that there are more disappointed iPhone users than Samsung users.
To be fair, there's no guarantee that other manufacturers aren't doing the same thing with their smartphones, so we can't just blame Apple. The company even explained that repairing existing batteries requires such practices.
"Our goal is to provide a better experience for customers that includes improved overall performance and extends the life of devices. Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of delivering peak power demands in cold environments, when the battery is low, or over time, which can lead to the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components," Apple said.
Finally, as with all types of technology, future research on this topic will undoubtedly reveal that other manufacturing companies are using the same practice. So, we can only wait and see what the future holds…
