Instagram recently launched an update for its iOS app for iPhone and Apple Watch that gives you the ability to follow hashtags you like.
Instagram version 27.0 for iOS is now available in the App Store and introduces a new feature that allows you to follow any hashtags you like. To follow a hashtag you can simply click on the photo you like and a new screen will immediately appear where you can follow that particular hashtag.
Once you follow a hashtag, its top posts will appear in your feed. The feature will also show you some of the latest stories that have used the hashtag.
"We're giving you the ability to follow hashtags to discover photos, videos, and people on Instagram in new ways. So when you find a hashtag you like, tap the follow button and you'll start seeing top posts on your account's homepage," the release notes say.
Instagram for iOS 27.0 is available in the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch devices and requires iOS 9.0 or later. Those who already have the app installed on their devices can update now by opening the App Store app and accessing the Updates tab. So refresh if you don't see the new version of Instagram in the list of available updates.
In other news, Instagram on iOS also lets you easily switch between your Apple Watch and iPhone using the Handoff feature.
