The internet has caught fire with an iPhone feature that grouped stored photos into categories based on keywords.
If, for example, you go to the Photos app and search for the word «satin» -even though we know…we know you don't have such photos stored- all photos that have been saved on the device and relate to any kind of underwear will be shown to you.
Don't worry, though, because first, it is something that has been created securely by Apple and second, you don't have stored such photos that could expose you.
Even though it may seem very creepy to many, Apple introduced this feature with iOS 10 in June 2016 and uses image recognition to group photos into different categories based on object and scene detection.
Essentially, the image recognition system on the iPhone revealed that Apple uses several thousand keywords to group these photos, such as bras, corsets, and corsets, etc. This means that if you take nude photos, there's a chance they'll be grouped into a category as well. The strange thing is that typing in men's underwear won't bring up any results.
Apple does reassure you by stating that these categories remain local and the specific information is not transferred to the cloud.
Interestingly, Apple is not the only one that has this feature as Google has introduced a similar feature with the only difference being that the information does not remain locally but is transferred to the cloud. Okay, this should worry you….
