Apple fired an employee after the daughter of the company's unfortunate engineer uploaded a hands-on video of the iPhone X to YouTube before the pre- order program began
The video released by Brooke Amelia Peterson went viral within hours and was removed at Apple's request from both YouTube and all other websites where it had been shared.
The young girl stated that although she complied with Apple's demand to remove the video immediately, the company decided to fire her father because one of the regulations was violated.
In her defense, Brooke Amelia said that she filmed the iPhone X because she likes to upload videos to YouTube and since several hands-on videos of the iPhone X had already been uploaded to the platform, she didn't think it would create that much of a problem for her father, who was one of the engineers who worked on Apple's anniversary model.
"This innocent video was essentially a snapshot of our family moments. Apple asked me to remove it immediately, which I did. But apparently the company finds my father guilty for the incident and decided to fire him as punishment. Ultimately, when you work for Apple, it doesn't matter how good you are at your job if you violate one of its rules, which are not flexible at all," the young girl continued.
Of course, both Brooke and her father hold no grudge against Apple and its decision as they understand that they violated one of its regulations. On the contrary, they will continue to buy its products.
Apple, for its part, did not comment on the incident as it does not wish to publish its internal regulations, but judging by its decision, it does not condone any violation, especially when it concerns its products.
