Get ready to see more stories on Facebook. Yes, it's true!

The social network is finally completing the final step in the evolution of Facebook Stories: allowing brands to participate. Facebook announced today that it will begin allowing Stories to run on Pages (or accounts run by businesses).
The expansion, which comes more than eight months after Facebook officially launched the feature, will begin rolling out "next month," according to Facebook Amy Sun.
“We’ve been listening to our community and working to make it fast, fun and easy for people and their Pages to create stories on Facebook,” he said. “Over the next month, Page users will be able to create stories and share them with the people they follow.”
Facebook hasn't made any statement about why the expansion of Stories has been so slow, but it likely has something to do with how incredibly unpopular the feature is. While Instagram was able to copy the feature from Snapchat so successfully that it's now used more often than it is on Snapchat, Facebook's version seems to be used only by Mark Zuckerberg.
Its slow adoption has been consistent since its launch, despite experiments that allowed users to cross-post Instagram Stories to Facebook and even the addition of Facebook Stories to the desktop.
Now, the company will finally allow brands and other organizations with Pages to create their own Stories, which will undoubtedly increase engagement with the feature, although it will come at the expense of all of us as it will be even more annoying. It remains to be seen which of the companies will ultimately adopt the new feature.
