A presentation event could not be without a bitter comment about Apple, the icing on the cake that will make the audience laugh and applaud.
At yesterday's presentation of the new Google device, Pixel 2, which comes in two different sizes, Mario Queiroz, General Manager of Google phones, hinted at an ironic comment about Apple's new series.
"You can choose whichever of the two Pixel models you prefer and experience the exact same experience. We don't offer better features on the larger device by downgrading the smaller one," Mario Queiroz said in his speech.
Indeed, Apple is following this tactic to drive consumers to the larger iPhone. Undoubtedly, a larger body allows for a larger battery and more equipment, so on the one hand we can justify why Apple offers more features in the Plus. At the same time, however, Cupertino is having a hard time convincing its consumers about the Plus as a large percentage of them are in love with the classic 4.7-inch iPhone.
So yes, to a point Google may be right since Apple offers some exclusive features like the dual camera system on the iPhone 7 and 8 Plus.
But let's not forget that last year Google mocked Apple for removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, and this year it introduced a Pixel device without a headphone jack as well. Did Google simply change its mind or is it copying its rival?
The proverb "What you mock, you get punished" probably applies here.
