Mozilla recently launched a dedicated website for its next-generation Firefox browser, Firefox Quantum, which promises to be twice as fast as current versions and comes with many performance improvements.

Firefox Quantum is actually Firefox 57, the version that followed Firefox 56, which will be released in beta tomorrow, September 28. Firefox 57 has just entered the Beta development stages, giving us a first proper look at the innovative new features and improvements.
First of all, Firefox Quantum is powered by an all-new, groundbreaking engine that doubles browsing speed compared to last year's version of Firefox. The engine is designed in such a way that it also promises to consume up to 30% less system memory, compared to Google's Chrome web browser this time around.
“Firefox Quantum’s new engine uses 30% less memory than Chrome, so other programs won’t slow down while you’re browsing,” Mozilla noted on the dedicated Firefox Quantum website.
The all-new powerful engine isn't all that Firefox Quantum has to offer, as it also comes with a sleek new look that will bring a host of intuitive features built in. These include in-browser screenshots, multi-site (tab) search, and support for opening tabs and accessing bookmarks across all your devices.
As with previous versions of Firefox, you will also be able to customize Firefox Quantum with your favorite extensions that help you do your job better, and it will be integrated with better and more powerful privacy features through Firefox Private Browsing, up to 44% faster, and block unwanted ads.
Among other cool new features that Firefox Quantum will introduce are support for date/time input, a general library for storing everything you've saved in one place, support for site data management, level 3 sandboxing protection on GNU/Linux platforms as well as asynchronous scrolling.
Firefox Quantum (Firefox 57) will be available worldwide on all supported platforms on November 14, 2017, but you can start and download the Beta now for GNU/Linux, macOS , or Microsoft Windows. However, please keep in mind that the Beta version is a version that may contain bugs, so do not use it for any productive work.
