Opera Software has released the new Opera 47 version to the stable channel, today August 9, 2017.
The new browser comes with usability improvements mainly: new export all bookmarks, custom number of closed tabs that can be restored, improvements to personal news and smoother video playback on devices running Windows 7.
The new Opera 47 comes with improved bookmark export options. The new bookmark export feature can export all bookmarks, and the bookmarks bar, to a single HTML bookmarks file.
To use the functionality, select Opera > Bookmarks > Show all bookmarks, then the page that opens Export bookmarks in the sidebar on the left.
Save the HTML file anywhere on your system. Some browsers support importing bookmark files from HTML, but you can also use the file directly, for example by uploading it somewhere on the Internet, to access it at any time and from any browser.
The Opera browser also supports a personal news feed. This works like any RSS feed, but comes with an option that allows you to import “top” news sources.
This way, Opera users can add the sources they choose to their personal news feed.
Opera's tab recovery feature keeps track of the last 32 tabs closed in the web browser. The previous default was set to 10 tabs. This means Opera browser users will be able to restore more tabs than before.
Issues with YouTube video playback have been fixed in the new Opera 47 for Windows 7 and Mac OS X.
Opera 47 has been updated to Chromium 60. More information about the new version of Opera 47 is available on the Opera blog.
