This Microsoft Surface Phone has what the iPhone doesn't

Microsoft is said to be working on a reboot of its mobile platform, and in addition to major software updates, the company could also launch a new device, which everyone expects to be the long-awaited Surface Phone.

And while Microsoft is trying to avoid dropping any hints about the Surface Phone, skilled designers around the world are creating concepts that imagine what the new device will look like, based mostly on existing specs and patents spotted in recent months.

This is the case with the Surface Phone concept published on Behance by Ian James Recto, which envisions a Surface Phone with a 20-megapixel camera and a customizable button on the back that uses the Microsoft logo.

While at first glance it's pretty clear that this Surface Phone still needs some improvements, it's more interesting to note that the concept imagines features that seem to go in a completely different direction compared to existing flagships, like the iPhone, for example.

The idea envisions a removable battery, a feature that most navigators no longer have for various reasons, including waterproofing, which is only possible if the device does not have a replaceable back cover.

Additionally, the device also features a headphone jack, which is still an extremely popular feature despite Apple removing it on the iPhone 7, as well as a stylus, an accessory that only Samsung seems to love at the moment.

At this point, the Surface Phone is still an unconfirmed project, although there are signs that Microsoft is indeed working on something big behind closed doors. Several Microsoft CEOs have promised the ultimate mobile device, and with the mobile platform reboot in the works, there's now a greater chance that we could see a Surface Phone launch as well.
