Microsoft , as we know, recently released the new Surface Pro and Surface Laptops with latest generation hardware, so it was only natural that more and more manufacturers would upgrade their devices with the latest chips, more RAM, and storage.
Xiaomi , for example, whose Mi Notebook Air was seen as a worthy rival to Apple's MacBook, today unveiled a software refresh to its laptop lineup as it seeks to match its rivals.
Specifically, the Mi Notebook Air laptop with a 13.3-inch screen is upgraded with Intel Kaby Lake processors while the smaller model with a 12.5-inch screen features the third-generation M3 processors.
Additionally, the larger model gets an upgrade with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Battery life will also be increased, with Xiaomi claiming that users will be able to get up to 9.5 hours of battery life per charge.
The good news doesn't end here as Xiaomi laptops will also receive a fingerprint sensor that will be configured with Windows Hello for biometric verification.
Statistically, the upgraded laptops will provide up to 10% performance improvements over the previous generation while the 12.5-inch model is 12% faster thanks to the CPU and other improvements made across the board.
When it comes to laptops, the race against Apple's MacBook series is to make devices as light as possible. And we think the Mi Notebook Air has achieved that goal.
Xiaomi is undoubtedly a company that offers excellent products that combine top features and affordable prices.
