We've talked about it a few times already, but it looks like the iPhone 8 will be around for a while yet. We know that the anniversary iPhone will bring a lot of new innovative changes, but what we didn't know and a new report has revealed is that the new version will also have a tribute to the first iPhone.
Analysts have been talking about the new iPhone using the “water drop design,” a design that was also used on the original model. This means the phone will have a smoother and more rounded rear curve than the edges of existing metal cases.
Apple will use a 3D glass material on the back of the iPhone 8 to make it look more like the original model. There is, of course, one big difference between the two models: The iPhone 8 will have a larger 5.8-inch display and will be much thinner than the 11.6mm on the original iPhone.
The 3D glass details on the new iPhone will be located on the top, bottom, right and left sides, giving the phone a completely different look from the flat and less curved iPhone 4.Furthermore, it is claimed that the new model will feature a glass design as opposed to the plastic and aluminum materials used on the original.
The report says that the iPhone 8 will not have very prominent curved lines on the side just like the Samsung Galaxy S, but only OLED screens that are quite flexible and suitable for this type of design.
We've read several rumors about the iPhone 8's display, with the most likely scenario being that the new model will come with a 2.5D display and a similar curve to its predecessor.
