MMD, the brand license partner of Philips displays, introduces the BDM4037UW, a 40-inch Philips Brilliance 4K Ultra HD LCD monitor with MultiView. It is the largest 4K curved monitor currently on the market and features Ultra Wide Color technology, which offers a wider range of colors for truly lifelike images.
The BDM4037UW features a high-performance panel for UltraClear images, with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution. Furthermore, this Philips monitor uses an advanced vertical alignment technology that results in high static contrast ratios for extra vivid and bright images. Thanks to optimized pixel management technology, the monitor also has a wide viewing angle of 178/178 degrees.
Supporting a wider color gamut – 85% of the NTSC gamut as opposed to the usual 72% – Ultra Wide Color technology expands the range of colors perceived by users and produces more realistic images. Unlike typical enhancements that work by modifying software settings for color balance, Ultra Wide Color technology improves the hardware.
Artem Khomenko, MMD Product Manager for Philips Displays in Europe emphasizes, “We are committed to providing an advanced experience for our monitor users. By combining 4K and Ultra Wide Color technology in a curved display, we manage to offer with this model stunning image clarity and ample space for multitasking supported by the Philips MultiView feature.”
MultiView allows users to enjoy up to four input sources on one screen, each in Full HD resolution. The images can be configured in two different ways:
1) With Picture-by-Picture mode, which is useful in control rooms or when using multiple devices, such as laptops, connected for more productive collaboration. This is a mode that divides the screen into multiple sections.
2) With Picture-in-Picture mode, e.g. for the user to view the news feed in a small window while working on the rest of the screen.
The new Philips model is also equipped with Flicker-free technology to prevent screen flickering and therefore eye fatigue, which is likely to be caused to some users of LED-backlit monitors.
Taking all the above features into account and if you are a demanding professional who requires extremely detailed images in a CAD program, uses 3D graphics applications, or works on huge spreadsheets, then it is certain that with this monitor your images and graphics will come to life.
The new Philips BDM4037UW monitor, with an indicative retail price of €749, is already available on the market.
