Offensive Security today announced the release of the second rolling version of its penetration testing operating system, Kali Linux.
Kali Linux 2016.02 is the second rolling release of Kali Linux and comes after several months of research and development. It brings the latest and greatest penetration testing tools, as well as a new base synchronized with the software repositories of the stable version of the Debian GNU/Linux 9.0 “Stretch” operating system
The Kali Linux 2.016.02 distribution provides, in addition to the latest tool and operating system packages, a completely new security feature.
“Over the past few months, we have been busy adding new Kali-related tools, fixing various bugs, and improving the OS. For example, adding HTTPS support to busybox now allows us to pre-configure Kali installations securely over SSL.
It’s a new feature that will speed up your (almost) unattended installations, even if you don’t have a custom ISO. To specify a pre-configured file during an installation process, select the “install” option. Then, from the tabs, fill in the pre-configuration directive, along with a URL that points to your actual pre-configuration file.”
Additional details about Kali Linux version 2.016.02 can be found in the release notes.
