Microsoft updated today its Skype app for Android. In September 2015, Skype for Android got a new design, inspired by Google's flat designs, but it was not fully adopted.
At that time, Microsoft said the app had redesigned the app for Android phones, but said nothing about Android tablets. Today it finally made the new app available for all devices.
The new user interface for tablets was obviously designed from scratch. A new button that “floats” will allow you to send messages and start voice calls or video calls with friends or groups.
The company also reports that the new design for tablets makes multitasking easier.
Chats have improved. You will now be able to find contacts, conversations, groups, and Skype bots much faster, all from the app's main screen.
In addition to all of the above, the company promises that Skype offers the usual call quality and improved performance with the current version.
