Microsoft's latest feat: We recently reported that some users of older Windows systems are suddenly seeing a window pop up informing them that an upgrade to Windows 10 is scheduled. Scheduling the upgrade of older systems to Windows 10 without the owner's consent seems to be Microsoft's new trick, and in some cases, it's quite difficult to block.
The image you see below was posted on Reddit by a user who claims he was asked out of nowhere to schedule a Windows 10 upgrade on his computer.
He swears that he didn't try to install Windows 10 himself, and that he didn't click anywhere that mentioned installation, or upgrade.
Of course, the fact that he used Google search to find a way to take the screenshot shows that he is not that experienced in using it, but the image he posted is interesting nonetheless:

In the image above you can see that there is no option to cancel the scheduled upgrade. The only option Microsoft gives is to change the scheduled task, stating:
“Please note that the scheduled time cannot be changed after this.”
The Reddit user who posted the image claims that he tried to close the application by right-clicking on the icon in the taskbar, but it didn't work.
Perhaps he could stop the process from Task Manager by pressing Alt + F4, but he hasn't mentioned whether he's tried that yet.
The image above shows us the ways Microsoft is using to promote its new operating system. The company, trying to reach its goal of having Windows 10 on one billion devices by 2017, leaves no room for the end user who does not want to change operating system.
