Microsoft Windows 10 1511 spying without warnings

Microsoft released the first major update to its Windows 10 operating system this month with much-needed new features and improvements.
Those of you who installed the update may have noticed that the company restored all of your default settings and apps, even if you had uninstalled them.Spying Windows 10

Of course, this fact may not tell you anything, but those who pay attention to the issue of privacy would probably be disappointed, as the company does not seem to be changing its practice.

Windows 10 version 1511 brings yet another change that can be confusing at first.

The Diagnostics Tracking Service is a core operating system monitoring service that controls data collection.

In the past (in the older version of Windows 10) there was an option that allowed the service to be disabled using the Services console and allowed you to prevent data collection.

If you check the Services window right now (those who have upgraded) you will notice that the monitoring diagnostics service is not there!

If there are any "romantics" who believe that Microsoft has listened to the community's calls for more privacy protection for its users, they will be disappointed.

Microsoft simply renamed the service to Connected User Experiences and Telemetry.

We don't know why Microsoft changed the name of the service, and one possible explanation would be to make it clearer what it does on your computer. But since there's no official announcement, the company's motivation for the change is unclear.

This of course means that you will have to disable the service after the Windows 10 Build 1511 update.

How;

To disable the new service, do the following:

In Windows 10 search, type services.msc and open the gear icon that appears.
Locate the Connected User Experiences and Telemetry service (services are listed alphabetically).
Double-click the service.
Select Stop.
Change the Startup type of the service to disabled.

As you can see with the new Windows it is essential to regularly check all your settings. Not only in the services area, but also all the privacy settings contained in the Settings application. As you noticed with the above post, changes to group policy are made immediately and without any warning.
