Now on Amazon, two-factor authentication is available!

Amazon now offers two-factor authentication to make your account more secure!Strong passwords are essential for websites that hold financial information and more, but unfortunately they are not invulnerable when it comes to hacker attacks. Two-factor authentication offers much better protection and requires users to confirm their identity with an additional element, such as a code generated from their mobile phone. This new way of identifying information is used by many large companies and one of them is Amazon.

To enable it, go to your account and select Change Account Settings. Then, select Edit under Advanced Security Settings and click the Get Started button, then follow the instructions. You will need to provide a phone number to Amazon to complete the process.

If you choose to enable this feature, the Amazon registration process will be a bit more complicated: you will need to enter a secondary code that you will either be asked to create or receive on your phone, depending on the option you choose. However, to log in you must be able to use a computer or a device, and Amazon will no longer require codes for that specific device.

Although this method adds a little extra hassle to your login process, it is worth it, as it makes your account much more secure against hacking attempts, even if someone manages to steal your password. It also gives you the option, if you change your mind, to disable two-factor authentication.

Companies that offer some form of two-factor authentication for their services include Google, PayPal, Apple, Facebook, and Twitter.
