A bug has been noticed by many users with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, as it causes high memory consumption.

This has some unpleasant effects as it closes open applications and causes constant reloads of the home screen.
On Google's Android Issue Tracker , it appears that several Nexus devices have been affected by the above bug, including the Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 4, and Nexus 5.
While it is normal for the device to consume around 500MB, in some cases the bug has consumed up to 1.2GB of RAM!
Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Google is so quickly moving forward with the upgrade to Android 5.0.2 , which has already been released for the Nexus 7 (WiFi version) and is soon expected for the rest of the Nexus.
