Want to try out the new Windows 10 Technical Preview without messing with your system? The Windows 10 Technical Preview has been available for several days now. If you want to try it out, you have two options. If you have an old computer, you can install Windows 10 from a flash drive. But the best approach is to run the new operating system in a “sandbox,” a virtual machine that won’t affect your system.

Let's see how you can do it:
1: Start by downloading the Windows 10 Technical Preview ISO file from here. Download the appropriate version for you (32 or 64-bit).
2: Download and install the free Oracle VM VirtualBox,
3: Run VirtualBox, after installation and click next, click the blue icon we have placed in a green circle. In the Create Virtual Machine dialog window, select type “Windows 10”, and click the selector to choose the Windows version your computer uses. Make sure your system matches the ISO you downloaded: 32 or 64 bit. Click Next.
4: VirtualBox will show a recommended memory size. If you want additional memory you can add it.. Then select “Create a virtual hard disk” and click the Create button. Accept VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image) as the file type for the disk. Then select Fixed size for the virtual disk unit. Finally, click the Create button, then wait while VirtualBox prepares your virtual disk.
5: Once the unit is ready, click the Start button on the VirtualBox toolbar. You will see a window informing you about the “Disk boot selection.” Click the small file folder next to the pull-down. Then, locate the Windows 10 ISO file you downloaded in step 1, and then click Start.
6: Installation of Windows will be done as you would normally do it. Choose the custom installation of Windows only if you know what you are doing. Usually, the installation process may require a few reboots, but only of the virtual machine.
That's it! Try Windows 10 through your operating system
