Microsoft made several interesting announcements at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona: The company announced a long list of manufacturers that will use the Windows Phone platform. The list includes Lenovo (which recently bought Motorola from Google), LG, Huawei, and ZTE.
Some of these companies, LG for example, had previously made devices with Windows Phone, but did not focus on the platform. The reasons? The operating system's malfunctions and probably its price.
Microsoft's list of manufacturers that will use the Windows Phone platform also includes Karbonn, Xolo and Lava in India, as well as Longcheer. The company also reiterated that HTC, Nokia and Samsung will introduce devices with its operating system.
Microsoft also announced details about the next update to the Windows Phone operating system, which, as we previously reported, will arrive in spring 2014. The updated operating system will support low-end devices (with 512MB of RAM and 16GB of storage), as well as better support for devices without touchscreens.
The new version of the platform will also support dual SIM devices.
