Facebook 's monthly active users reached 1.39 billion, and of these, 890 million use the largest social network every day, according to data released by Facebook for the fourth quarter of 2014.
The number of total monthly users increased by 13% compared to the last quarter of 2013, the number of daily users increased by 18%, while the number of those using Facebook from mobile devices increased faster, at a rate of 26%.
Facebook, moreover, announced higher than expected profits (696 million dollars) in the last quarter of 2014, compared to 520 million dollars in the corresponding quarter of 2013. Revenue (turnover) reached 3.85 billion dollars versus 2.59 billion in the last quarter of 2013. At the same time, however, expenses increased significantly by 87% in the fourth quarter last year, reaching 2.72 billion.
