For the first time in a year, Microsoft is not including a new Internet Explorer update in its regular Tuesday updates. Should we be worried?
Microsoft its 2014 Security Update Tuesdays, with four security bulletins covering six different Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) issues in Windows, Office, and Dynamics AX.
All four bulletins are rated "high" in importance, which is one level below "critical." Bulletin MS14-001 addresses three CVEs in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution. MS14-002 and MS14-003 will address kernel vulnerabilities related to Windows that could allow unauthorized elevation of privilege.
The final bulletin is MS14-004, which provides a fix for a denial-of-service (DoS) vulnerability in Microsoft Dynamic AX.
