Microsoft: The official pricing of Windows 10: Microsoft has definitively confirmed the information regarding the prices of Windows 10 in a statement it made this morning, in which it revealed that the new operating system will cost the same as its predecessor, Windows 8.1.
Based on the posts on Newegg, compared to previous Windows versions, Microsoft says that Windows 10 will be $10 more expensive for each edition. So the Home edition will cost $119 (= 105 euros), while Pro can be purchased for $199 (= 150 euros).
According to the company's statement:
“The suggested retail prices for Windows 10 in the US are the same as Windows 8.1.
Windows 10 Home has an estimated retail price of $119.
Windows 10 Pro has an estimated retail price of $199.
And the Windows 10 Pro Pack, which allows you to upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro, has an estimated retail price of $99.
All of these will be available either in stores or online.”
Among other things, there is Microsoft's revelation that Windows 10 will be released on July 29th of this year.
On the other hand, Newegg claims that Windows 10 will be available in the store a month after that date, namely from August 31st of this year. Perhaps Microsoft may be planning to release the digital download before the OEM release, through online stores. It seems that perhaps on July 29th it will start distributing Windows 10 for free to users of older Windows.
