Google is closing its only smartphone factory!

Google has decided to close Motorola Mobility's facility in Fort Worth, Texas after just a year of operation after the Moto X smartphone failed to attract consumer interest.

The factory was opened with the aim of dispelling the perception that a smartphone made in the US would be too expensive, which apparently failed to do so, since the Moto X cost $600 when it was released and then $399 - a price that did not cover its production costs.

The factory employed 3,800 workers, but the poor performance of the Moto X resulted in a reduction in staff to 700 people and ultimately its closure..

Finally, Motorola announced that production of the Moto X will continue in factories in China and Brazil.
