London wants to become the «silicon capital» of the Old Continent
London has set its sights on winning the title of «silicon capital» of Europe.
According to a publication on the website of the Evening Standard newspaper, last year a total of 90 foreign technology companies established their headquarters in the British capital.
Approximately half were from America and the majority of the rest from Europe, while some others were from China.
This fact, the publication adds, gives hope that the capital can build a new economic, strong base and reduce its historic dependence on financial markets.
The biggest investment in this sector is the 1 billion British pounds that Google is providing for the expansion of its headquarters in the King’s Cross area of London.
