Microsoft seems to be following Google 's example in its decision to unify its applications across various operating systems.
Microsoft, in turn, adopts the logic of Universal Apps , that is, applications that can be used by users on any of the company's operating system platforms
With Universal Apps, any application will be able to "run" on Windows Phones , Windows tablets , laptops or desktops , and the Xbox One console .
This makes it easier for developersto make minor changes to the program code.
Microsoft will also develop the appropriate tools for developers that will allow them to appropriately transform the application interface, depending on the dimensions of the screen.
Furthermore, because it is a cross-platform application, its synchronization management will be done via the cloud.
So far, the payment method for acquiring applications of this format has not been clarified, however, the relevant announcements were made during the Microsoft Build 2014, which is aimed at application creators, so the interest was focused on the technical part of creating Universal Apps for Windows and not on commercial promotion .
Finally, it is worth noting that Apple has also developed universal apps, which can be used on both iPhone and iPad.
