Microsoft recently announced that Satya Nadella is the company's new CEO, with Steve Ballmer retiring but continuing to stay at the company for the next few years .
Nadella has kicked off his tenure as Microsoft CEO by sending a short message on Twitter, stating that he really wants to stay in touch with the company's fans who use social media.
"First commitment as CEO: I will not wait 4 years between tweets!" he declared on Twitter, as his last post was from July 11, 2010.
As Neowin notes, this tweet alone makes Satya Nadella the most active Microsoft CEO when it comes to social media, as Bill Gates did not have a Twitter account when he was CEO, while Steve Ballmer did not post anything on the site.
Of course, this could also be a way to fix the company's image, but it remains to be seen whether Satya Nadella is actually willing to spend more time on social networks.
