Apple registers new 'gen AI' subdomain ahead of WWDC 2026

Apple just registered a new subdomain ahead of WWDC: genai.apple.com. Everything points to WWDC 2026 being Apple's big AI renaissance, where the company will deliver on the promises it made in 2024, as well as a few additional new announcements.

This subdomain was first spotted by Aaron Perris of MacRumors, and the link does not currently lead to an active website. It is unclear what it will be used for, or if it will even be a publicly accessible website – but it is likely related to Apple’s upcoming announcements about genetic AI at WWDC.

As mentioned earlier, Apple is finally delivering on the promises it made two years ago – and then some. Siri should finally be able to understand more personal context, be screen-aware, and be able to take action in apps for you. This will be made possible thanks to Apple’s new partnership with Google, where Apple will use Gemini-diffused models hosted on Private Cloud Compute to power Siri.

In addition to what was announced at WWDC 2024, Apple is also expected to unveil a new Siri app. This will allow you to access your past conversations with Siri, as well as have text-based conversations with Siri.

Other Apple Intelligence upgrades coming to WWDC 2026 include the ability to create digital cards from physical tickets, new editing features in the Photos , and additional functionality for Visual Intelligence. In addition to Apple Intelligence, it is widely expected that Apple will focus on performance improvements and stability above all else.
