Anthropic has announced new interactive tools in Claude that allow users to open and interact with other services and apps directly from within the AI conversational interface (via the web and Mac app). The new update offers real-time collaboration with apps like Asana, Slack, Figma, Canva , and more, without requiring users to switch between tabs or apps.

This feature is supported by MCP Apps, a new extension to the Model Context Protocol that allows any MCP server to provide an interactive interface within supported AI products. Anthropic open-sourced MCP last year as a universal standard for connecting tools to AI applications.

Claude AI: All new app integrations
According to Anthropic's announcement, users will be able to do the following directly within Claude:
– Canva: Create presentation outlines, customize branding, and design in real time to create client-ready decks.
– Figma: Command for converting text and images into flow charts, Gantt charts, or other visual diagrams in FigJam.
– Slack (from Salesforce): Search and retrieve Slack conversations for context, create draft messages, format them, and review them before publishing.
– Amplitude: Create analysis charts, explore trends, and adjust parameters interactively to discover hidden information.
– Asana: Turn conversations into projects, tasks, and timelines that your team can view and execute on in Asana.
– Box: Search for files, view documents inline, and extract information and queries about your content.
– Clay: Research companies, find contacts with email and phone information, pull data like company size and funding, and write personalized pitches directly in your conversation.
– Hex: Perform data questions and receive answers with interactive charts, tables and reports.
– monday.com: Manage your work, execute projects, update dashboards, and visualize progress with insights.
The interactive tools are available on the web and desktop for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans , with support expected to come to Claude Cowork in the future.

The integrations are similar to ChatGPT's Apps system, introduced last October, which allows users to interact with third-party tools within the chat interface.
