Just two months after the release of iOS 26, rumors are rife about the upcoming iOS 27. We are already hearing details about the next generation of iOS, which Apple will unveil in June 2026, before releasing it in September of the same year.

Bug Fixes
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reported that iOS 27 will be a "Snow Leopard"-style upgrade, suggesting that Apple will focus on improving underlying performance and quality rather than introducing major new features. Apple engineers are reportedly reviewing iOS 26 to identify unnecessary elements, bugs , and any other issues that impact performance.
Foldable Features
In 2026, Apple plans to release its first foldable iPhone, a device that could be called the iPhone Fold. Rumors suggest it will feature a 5.5-inch display when folded and a 7.8-inch display when opened like a book.

A larger, foldable iPhone will require significant upgrades to iOS, and iOS 27 will focus on creating new interfaces and experiences designed for this condition.
We don't know details about how Apple will adapt iOS to support the iPhone Fold, but we could see some iPad-like options, such as sidebars or even multitasking views with support for multiple windows.
Liquid Glass
iOS 27 may include improvements to the Liquid Glass that Apple introduced with iOS 26. Some changes have already been made in the iOS 26.1 and iOS 26.2 updates, but it is believed that iOS 27 will give Apple the opportunity to make larger adjustments.
Apple Intelligence
We expect to see the much smarter version of Siri in an iOS 26.4 update, scheduled for spring 2026. However, it's likely that there will be even more Apple Intelligence features coming with iOS 27.
We don't know for sure yet, but Apple Intelligence capabilities could expand to additional apps.

Apple is working on a “ World Knowledge ” search feature for Siri that will provide information for general searches, which will likely be included in the iOS 26.4 Siri update. If it’s not in iOS 26.4, the additional Siri feature could come in iOS 27.
Siri
With iOS 27, Apple could be revamping Siri’s design. Siri will get its big overhaul in iOS 26.4, but a new visual look is reportedly in the works for iOS 27. There’s no concrete information on what the redesign might include, but rumors tied to Apple’s upcoming tabletop robot suggest the company could introduce a more animated, similar to the Mac’s Finder logo. This more animated version of Siri could also be coming to the iPhone and iPad.
Health+
Rumor has it that Apple is developing a Health+ subscription service with diet planning and medical recommendations, and we could see this service introduced as part of iOS 27.
The medical tool will explain various health indicators and trends from the Health app, offering personalized guidance for improving health.
New Satellite Features
Apple is working on several new satellite features for the iPhone, and it's possible that some features could be introduced as early as 2027. The timing for Apple's satellite improvements is unclear, however, as they require behind-the-scenes updates from Apple's satellite partner, Globalstar.
