iOS 27 is expected to include two major upgrades: quality improvements and new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
In his new Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman reported that iOS 27 will be similar to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, in that Apple is focusing on improving “quality and underlying performance” rather than adding new features. Gurman noted that there is one exception to this rule, as he expects there to be new artificial intelligence capabilities.

He said that iOS 27 will expand artificial intelligence to additional Apple apps and reiterated that there will be a subscription service, Apple Health+, that will offer personalized health recommendations and more.
This focus on improved quality rather than new features also applies to macOS 27.The first beta versions of iOS 27, macOS 27, and other related updates are expected to be released shortly after Apple's annual developer conference, WWDC, next June.
