In a notification letter shared with the relevant authorities, the company states that it detected unauthorized activity on its information systems on November 9, 2024, which led to an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity.

According to the results of the investigation, the attackers managed to extract files with personal data, without however specifying the types of data in the letter.

Legends International is a global sports and entertainment services company, offering solutions related to venue design, sales, commercial partnerships, hospitality, merchandise and technology, with an annual turnover exceeding 1.1 billion dollars.

The company manages more than 350 venues across five continents, including SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, One World Observatory in New York, AT&T Stadium in Texas, the Santiago Bernabéu and Camp Nou in Spain, and Anfield and OVO Arena Wembley in the United Kingdom.

Legends International reveals data breach

The scope of the Legends International data breach and the number of people affected remain unknown. However, given the size of the company's operations and the volume of sensitive data it handles, there are legitimate concerns.

In the letter sent to those affected, the company says that preventive security measures were already in place before the incident, while additional enhanced measures were implemented during the restoration of systems after the cyberattack. However, no specific details were provided about these measures.

Recipients of the letter are offered 24 months of coverage for identity theft detection services through Experian, with a registration deadline of July 31, 2025.

Legends International points out in the letter that so far there are no indications that personal data has been used maliciously due to the breach, however, interested parties are advised to remain vigilant.

The Legends International adds to the growing list of organizations targeted by cyberattacks aimed at stealing personal data. The incident highlights the need for enhanced cybersecurity measures, especially for companies with a global presence and access to sensitive customer and employee information. Although there is no evidence of malicious use of the data so far, the period of vigilance recommended by the company is critical. Offering identity theft detection services is a first step, but the issue of prevention and timely response remains at the heart of the debate around the protection of personal data in the modern digital age.
