Apple's wearable lineup may not require a smart ring. In a recent interview, Tom Hale, CEO of Oura, was asked if he was concerned about the possibility of Apple introducing a smart ring in the future.
Hale's position that he doesn't want to undermine the success of the Apple Watch is well-founded. After nearly 10 years on the market, Apple continues to enjoy huge success with the Apple Watch. It also has another hugely successful product, the AirPods. With the iOS 18.1 update, Apple introduced significant new health for the AirPods Pro 2, and more health features are reportedly planned for future AirPods.

However, the statement that it is «hard to get this category of products right»; This seems to be a bait. I am sure that the Oura Ring was a complex product to create, but Apple certainly has the expertise required to build a competitor, if it wishes. However, at this time, it does not seem to have many reasons to do so.
