Tesla vehicle sales are back on the rise , after two consecutive quarters of decline.

According to the electric vehicle company's own reports, 469,796 vehicles were produced in the three-month period ending in September (an increase of 9.1% compared to the same period last year and 14.4% compared to the second quarter of 2024). Tesla also reported that it delivered 462,890 vehicles to customers in the third quarter of 2024, an increase of 5.8% from the second quarter.

The increase in production and sales may be partly due to the Cybertruck, although Tesla has not reported exact sales figures for the vehicle. The Model 3 and Y still the most produced and sold models.
However, despite the increased sales, Tesla still faces some challenges. Overall EV sales are down from a few years ago, with customers choosing mostly hybrids over pure electric vehicles. This was also the reason why Volvo recently announced that it had abandoned its goal of producing only electric cars by 2030.Currently, the industry is facing a slowdown in demandin some major electric vehicle markets.

“We stand by our belief that our future is electric,” said Jim Rowan, Volvo’s CEO. “However, it is clear that the transition to electrification will not be linear and customers and markets move at different speeds.”

Getting back to Tesla, however, we shouldn't forget that there is another problem. It faces increased competition in both the US and China.
