Flights between Croatia and the United Kingdom were suspended last night, following a cyberattack on the IT system at Split airport in Croatia.

Some of the companies affected by the hack were British Airways, easyJet, TUI and Wizz.
The Assistant Director of Split Airport, Pero Bilas , admitted that the IT system outage was the result of a hacking attack and explained that cybersecurity experts are working intensively to eliminate the consequences of this attack.

The attack took place yesterday evening around 7:30 p.m., after the takeoff and landing approval system was affected
Several flights were affected, including easyJet 's inbound services from London, which were diverted to Venice and Dubrovnik, while return flights were cancelled. British Airways and TUI flights departed several hours late.

The Croatian Foreign Ministry issued an update this morning, warning of ongoing disruption at Split airport: "There may be flight delays, please monitor any messages you may receive from your airline ."
However, Split Airport said the situation had "started to normalise" at around 10:30pm yesterday and flights appear to be operating as scheduled today.
