Adobe announced the release of new AI features for Lightroom in a newsroom post.
Today, Adobe introduced Generative Remove in Adobe Lightroom, bringing the magic of Adobe Firefly directly to everyday photo editing workflows across Lightroom mobile, web, and desktop platforms. Generative Remove is Lightroom’s most powerful removal tool yet, empowering anyone to remove unwanted objects from any photo non-destructively with a single click, intelligently matching the removed area with pixel-perfect generations for high-quality, realistic, and stunning results.

Along with Generative Remove, the other AI-powered is Lens Blur for Lightroom, which allows users to “achieve aesthetic blur effects on any photo with a single click.”
In addition to these two main AI features, the new Lightroom comes with:
- Expanded tethering support for new cameras, including Sony’s latest digital cameras – such as the Alpha 7 IV and Alpha 7R V – provides real-time access to photos in Lightroom Classic, saving time in daily editing workflows and enabling better collaboration between teams.
- HDR optimization, already used on tens of millions of images, allows anyone to edit and export their photos with brighter highlights, deeper shadows, and more vibrant colors, just as they appear in real life.
- Instant access to photo libraries in the Lightroom mobile and desktop apps, enabling faster editing than ever.
- The all-new Lightroom mobile editing experience simplifies the mobile toolbar to prioritize the most popular features, making it faster and more intuitive to edit.
