Apple: Withdraws iOS 17.3 Beta 2 due to boot loop issues

Apple has removed the iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 betas after many users reported that the software was “hanging” their devices . According to reports on the MacRumors forums, Twitter, and Mastodon, some iPhone owners who updated saw their devices get stuck in a boot loop.

The only solution to the problem seems to be to reset a jailbroken device, which is why Apple withdrew the update.

When the bug is fixed, Apple will re-release the beta.

There are reports suggesting that the boot loop in iOS 17.3 may be related to the Back Tap setting.

A log file shared by developer Guilherme Rambo shows that a Back Tap setting caused his device to crash, and there were other affected users who had the Back Tap feature enabled.

Some others who had Back Tap enabled were able to install the update, while others who didn't had the feature experienced the issue with startup, so it's not entirely clear how Back Tap is connected.
