iOS 17.2: Best cameras for iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max

Apple's upcoming iOS 17.2 update promises to improve camera performance on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

Apple will release iOS 17.2 to compatible iPhone models before the end of the year . The update is expected to add Journal, an app that lets users keep a daily journal on their iPhone. Apple has removed the collaborative playlist feature for Apple Music due to concerns about abuse and spam, but it is working to limit the number of “pending requests” a user can have.

The concern is that the ability to create collaborative playlists would require a switch that would allow the user to decide who can contribute to them.

The update to iOS 17.2 will also allow the iPhone 13 and 14 to support the updated Qi2 standard for wireless charging at speeds up to 15W, without the need for expensive certified MagSafe.

According to the release notes for the iOS 17.2 Release Candidate for developers, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max users will benefit from “improved Telephoto camera focus speed when shooting small distant objects on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.” Because the camera will be able to focus faster on such objects, it is expected that the quality of photos with the telephoto mode on the new iPhone Pro models will be better and it will be easier to take such photos.

Additionally, the iOS 17.2 update will allow the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to create spatial videos, which are immersive 3D videos that make the viewer feel like they are reliving the moment when watched while wearing the head-mounted display from the upcoming Vision Pro spatial computer. We estimate that this computer will be released perhaps next March.
