Xiaomi is releasing HyperOS as US-sanctioned Huawei moves further away from Google 's Android .

Xiaomi Corp , a giant in the smartphone and gadget space , has recently emerged as a major player in the Chinese industry.
It unveiled a unified operating system for mobile devices, cars and home products connected to the Internet. At the same time, Huawei Technologies, a US-sanctioned company, is working to develop its own embedded operating system, freeing it from Google's Android.

Xiaomi described HyperOS as a system that combines a highly customizable Android operating system with the company's proprietary Vela Internet of Things (IoT) platform. The platform was launched three years ago and supports a wide range of smart devices, from bracelets and smartwatches to speakers and home sensors.
The company announced HyperOS as a "human-centric" operating system that is the culmination of its efforts to bring its extensive and rich product portfolio under the roof of a single operating system for easier and more efficient management.

HyperOS will be pre-installed on Xiaomi's latest 14, as well as other devices available in the central Chinese market, such as smartwatches and televisions, the company announced.
