OpenAI announced Monday that it is releasing a version of its popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT, aimed exclusively at businesses, called ChatGPT Enterprise . The move comes as competition in the field of artificial intelligence continues to intensify in the enterprise sector.
OpenAI revealed the new service in a post and said it’s already available for purchase to enterprise customers. The new version promises to provide “enterprise-grade security and privacy” combined with “the most powerful version of ChatGPT yet.” The company says the chatbot is suitable for businesses looking to make the leap to generative AI.

“We believe that AI can help and enhance every aspect of our work lives and make teams more creative and productive,” OpenAI’s post said. “It’s another step towards an AI assistant for work that helps with any job, is customized for your organization, and protects your company’s data.”
Already some large companies have tested ChatGPT Enterprise, including fintech startup Block and cosmetics company Estee Lauder Companies.
OpenAI's decision to launch the new ChatGPT Enterprise for businesses was no coincidence. According to the company, over 80% of Fortune 500 companies have been using ChatGPT since it was launched late last year.

However, prior to the launch of ChatGPT Enterprise, a number of large companies, including JPMorgan Chase, had implemented temporary restrictions on the use of ChatGPT in the workplace.
ChatGPT Enterprise, however, addresses one of the key issues that led to these limitations. Those concerns had to do with privacy and security. Some business leaders had expressed concerns that employees would enter important corporate information into ChatGPT and that this sensitive information could be exposed elsewhere through the AI chatbot. But with ChatGPT Enterprise, OpenAI says that privacy is assured. Specifically, it states “the tool is not trained on data or your conversations, and our models do not learn from your usage.”
OpenAI has not disclosed pricing for ChatGPT Enterprise. Instead, it has asked interested enterprise customers to contact its sales team.
