Elon Musk lost so much money that he broke the Guinness World Record

Elon Musk has broken the world record for the largest loss of personal wealth in history, according to a report by Guinness World Records.

According to the report, the tech mogul is estimated to have lost $182 billion (or possibly even $200 billion) in his net worth since November 2021.

According to Forbes data collected from the Database , Elon Musk's net worth has fallen drastically from a peak of $320 billion in 2021 to $138 billion in January 2023, due to the decline in Tesla.

Despite being “nearly impossible to verify,” the report highlighted that Elon Musk’s total losses have apparently surpassed Masayoshi Son’s losses of $58.6 billion in 2000 – setting a new record!

Last month, Bernard Arnault retained his position as the richest person in the world, surpassing CEO . The French tycoon is also the head of LVMH, a luxury goods group that owns the famous fashion company.

According to the latest Forbes report from January 12, Arnault's net worth stands at a staggering $203.7 billion and net worth is estimated at around £146.5 billion.

Guinness record

In a tumultuous 2022, Tesla's stock value fell by 65%, meaning most of Elon Musk's wealth was significantly affected.

Following acquisition of Twitter for around $44 billion, the decline in value escalated rapidly throughout October.

Growing concerns about falling demand and logistical difficulties have hampered delivery processes for the world's most sought-after carmaker.

When the market closed its doors on December 30, 2022, Musk took to social media and proclaimed: “The long-term forecast is extremely favorable. In the short term, however, no one knows what will happen.”.
