As a result of a severe service disruption resulting from a cyberattack, Royal Mail, the UK's leading mail delivery system, is temporarily suspending international services .

While all delivery and collection services remain unaffected by the incident, customers should suspend any exports until further notice as parcels cannot be sent to international locations. The incident occurred yesterday. Fortunately, domestic UK mail was not affected, a spokesperson said
In a separate statement, Royal Mail advised that parcels that have already been delivered may experience delays - however, Parcelforce Worldwide remain unaffected by the delay.
"Despite minor setbacks, our import operations remain a full service for all customers. Parcelforce Worldwide services are still operating to all overseas locations, however customers should expect a 1-2 day delay in delivery," the Royal Mail Company said.

Although Royal Mail has yet to reveal the exact nature of this incident, it has hired external experts to conduct an ongoing investigation and has reported the incident to UK security agencies.
“In response to the incident, we quickly launched an investigation and sought the assistance of external professionals. Additionally, our regulators and security officials have been notified of this incident.“
After being made aware of the incident, the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is working with Royal Mail Group Ltd and the National Crime Agency to further understand its implications. A spokesperson for the NCSC expressed its awareness of the issue.
The incident comes after another attack in November 2022 that resulted in services being down for an entire day. As a result of the outage, British residents were only able to track their shipments, letters and parcels via the Royal Mail app, as the Track and Trace was down.
