The company said that topics and filters are displayed to users in the order determined by our systems, depending on what will be most useful for the specific query the user has made.
For example, if you search for “dinner ideas,” you might see topics like “healthy” or “easy.” Tapping on a topic adds it to your query, helping you quickly refine your search results. Topics are always changing as you tap—enabling new options and areas to explore. For example, if you tap on the word “healthy,” terms like “vegetarian” or “fast” might then appear in the list of suggested topics.
Starting today, English-speaking users in the United States can use topic filters in the Google app for Android and iOS, as well as in mobile Search.
