Google is introducing continuous scrolling for desktop Search results, just as it did for its mobile website in 2021. This major change to the layout of its search engine results page (SERP) is part of their effort to improve the user experience and make it easier to find what you're looking for.
Google has long allowed users to see up to 100 results per page from google.com/preferences, although the default search result is 10 blue links.
It’s important to distinguish between continuous scrolling and infinite scrolling. With continuous scrolling, users can view six pages of Search results by scrolling down before encountering the “More” that would allow them to search for more results. On mobile devices, Google limits continuous scrollingso that users can only view four pages of results at a time.
