A new report from WABetaInfo, which monitors WhatsApp updates, reveals that the company is now working on adding a new “Calls” tab for beta testers in the desktop application.

Unfortunately, at this time WhatsApp Web users and desktop app users do not have access to call history or call functions.

Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp continues to add new features for its beta testers. Last month, the company added a sidebar to the beta version of WhatsApp for Windows 2.2240.1.0 that gave users quick access to chat list, status updates , and settings . Now, WhatsApp is adding a Tabs tab to the sidebar.

For a few desktop beta users who installed the WhatsApp beta update for Windows 2.2246.4.0 from the Microsoft Store, WhatsApp has already rolled out the “Calls” tab in the app’s sidebar. In the coming days, this is expected to be rolled out to even more users.

The new section will allow users to view their call history within the WhatsApp desktop app, along with relevant information about each call. They will also be able to search for calls that have been made in the past.

"Since this app is in beta, your call history may not immediately sync with your mobile device: in fact, calls made from the native desktop app may not appear on your phone. Another update may be released in the future and should address this issue," the report states.

The beta application is subject to changes and improvements before being released to everyone on the stable channel, which may take from a few weeks to several months.

Last week, WhatsApp launched a new feature called Polls which allows users to conduct polls in private and group chats with end-to-end encryption
