RRAS is a Windows service that provides additional routing and TCP connectivity capabilities (e.g., remote access or site-to-site connectivity) over VPN or dial-up connections.
In addition to RRAS servers experiencing problems routing traffic, the company says that client devices may also experience problems after connecting to the servers , with the servers also losing their internet connection in the process.
Windows administrators started experiencing issues after installing the June patches, which could only be resolved after the updates were completely removed.
Microsoft revealed that these issues have been addressed in last week's optional cumulative Windows updates

The preview updates were released as part of the June 2022 scheduled monthly “C” updates to allow customers to test upcoming fixes for Windows 11 (KB5014668), Windows Server 2022 (KB5014665), and Windows 10, version 1809 (KB5014669).

However, those using newer versions of Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 SP1, and several versions of Windows Server that are also affected by this issue will likely have to wait for a fix until next month's patch.
While there are still platforms affected, a solution is available to address these ongoing connectivity issues.
As Microsoft said, administrators can temporarily disable the NAT feature on RRAS servers to resolve the issues until a fix is released.
The company shared the same solution as part of the confirmation of the known issue in the Windows Health dashboard.

"If the latest Windows updates cannot be installed on an affected server, the issue can be avoided by temporarily disabling the NAT feature on the RRAS server," Microsoft said.
Microsoft also revealed last week that the latest cumulative preview updates also address connectivity issues when using Wi-Fi hotspots , after installing Windows updates released as part of the June 2022 patch.
