The full experience of Microsoft Office is better on computers, especially on computers with Windows. It has evolved significantly since the introduction of Microsoft 365, formerly Office 365. But something that has also evolved is Microsoft Office for Android.

It's an incredibly useful tool that lets you edit and compose Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents on the go. While all three services (Word, PowerPoint , and Excel) were originally available as separate apps, Microsoft was quick to merge them. Now, Microsoft Office for Android has a brand new, much-needed improvement: dark mode!

The announcement was made in a post from Microsoft, although we already knew about the feature thanks to the leaks. Microsoft Office on a computer already supports dark mode for quite some time, and sets most UI elements to black.
On the other hand, Android has also supported dark mode for apps almost natively since Android 10, which was released over a year ago. So you would think that this seems like a strange omission and that this should have been supported a long time ago. But that wasn't the case, but users are eager to use the feature that is now available in the Android version of the app.

Microsoft states that this was a particularly required feature for the app and we believe it. This dark mode will follow Android's global dark theme if it is enabled, and if it is not enabled, you can override the setting across the entire system and turn dark mode on or off by tapping your profile on the Home tab, selecting Settings, and then choosing Light, Dark, or System Default from the Theme Options.
